CMAA YL Coffee Meetup with Panel Discussion

The Young Leaders of CMAA North Texas would like to invite you to participate in our Coffee Meet-Up and Panel Discussion event. The conversation will explore the evolving nature of the Construction industry from the varied and experienced perspectives of our panelists.  Providing amazing opportunity for young leaders to learn from accomplished leaders in the construction and program management field. 

The panel discussion will be followed by audience questions and a coffee social. Joining us on our panel is:


Melinda RamirezProject Manager, Vanir CM

Ms. Ramirez is an accomplished construction professional with leadership experience in general contractor, construction manager, and owner roles. She earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico after also studying Architecture. Her multi-disciplinary education has contributed to her versatility and ability to manage multiple trades, roles, and leadership duties.


Alvaro Meza,CHST, CRIS, LCR, CSHO, SHEP
Bond Safety Manager, Dallas Independent School (DISD)

Mr. Meza is a Dallas Baptist University graduate with over 17 years of experience in Occupational Safety & Health and Construction Risk Management-Loss Prevention. He has overseen safety programs for multiple Dallas Independent School District (DISD) bonds, including 2015 and 2020 currently. Prior to his role with DISD’s bond programs, Mr. Meza served in the U.S. Army with multiple Engineering Brigades. During this time he received multiple accommodations for outstanding dedication and accomplishment.


George Watts, Leadership in Major Capital Projects, SMU

Mr. Watts is a recognized leader in complex project and program management for public and private owners, as well as a leader for the CMAA North Texas chapter. His portfolio includes more than three decades of construction industry experience as a real estate investment banker; developer; general contractor; and owner's representative. Mr. Watts is also a published author and experienced public speaker.
