Join CMAA Young Leaders for a
Tour of the Dallas County Records Building Renovation Project
Thursday, July 18, 2019
3:30 PM - 5:30 PM
The Dallas County Records Building is a three-building complex which includes a former jail (built in 1915), the namesake record building (built in 1928), and an annex (built in 1955).
As part of the renovation, Gensler and contractor Manhattan-Byrne-3i (a joint venture between Manhattan Construction Co., Byrne Construction Services, and 3i Construction) will connect the buildings into one. Each building has different floorplates. The upper floors will be completely removed and reinstalled so the new floorplates are level across all three structures. Manhattan-Byrne-3i will consolidate the buildings’ mechanical, data, and electrical infrastructures and elevators in a centralized spine.
Upon its completion, the Dallas County Records Building will be approximately 320,000 square feet, about 40,000 more square feet than its current setup. Part of the increased square footage comes from the addition of a seventh floor that will be used for special events and will be open to the public.
Parking: Available Paid Surface parking is located on the map above for $5. Available Paid Underground Garage Parking is also located on the map above for $10. All guest should park in the identified parking areas and meet at the gated entrance of the project.
PPE Requirements: Closed toe shoes/boots, hard hats, safety vests and safety glasses.
The tour will begin promptly at 3:30 pm with a project overview followed by the guided tour.
